A computer program to quick fix the Medicaid Fix
22 August, 2005
The Medicaid reform project will take
off soon to hinder any discrepancies which misuse the
Medicaid drug prescription system. It includes a computer
program which tracks the system dollor 110.5 million
expenses. Through the new program officers will exactly
know how each dollar is spend to information about the
person who first receives treatment under the program.
In a program misuse incident, one person obtained eight
prescriptions for the same drug from different doctors,
all through Medicaid at the tax payer’s expense.
The new computer program is the mind
work of Salient Corp. Officials estimate that a good
$2milion to $5 million could be saved once the program
comes into use in Chemung County. The new computer program
is a slightly modified version of programs used by businesses
to monitor their services and spending.
