Ranbaxy suffers at the US generic drug market

Ranbaxy, India's top drug maker suffered
losses at the generic
drug market in US. Its quarterly net profit fell
to 49 percent making it a tough year for them. Though
their sales rose to 7 percent, representatives of Ranbaxy
Laboratories mentioned that the year ahead appears hard
and highly competitive.
As Ranbaxy drugs are popular in US, they are also planning
a copy of Pfizer;s cholesterol lowering drug Lipitor.
Caverta is Ranbaxy; generic
version of Viagra.
It is produced in India and meets the same manufacturing
standards as its original version of erectile
dysfunction pill Viagra.
Caverta is distributed in Europe and other countries
as well.
