Vacuum
pumps and injections for erectile dysfunction treatment
14 December, 2005
Apart from the available erectile
dysfunction (ED) drugs such as Cialis
and Viagra and ED generic
drugs such as Caverta,
Kamagra and Silagra, there
are other options also available for treating ED such
as vacuum pumps and injections. A Caverject injection
contains the prescription drug alprostadil, which usually
produces an erection within five to 10 minutes. The
needle of the injection is so small that it causes very
little discomfort.
Apart from these, Vacuum pump or vacuum constriction
device (VCD) are also available for treating ED. It’s
an external pump with a band on it that a man with erectile
dysfunction can use to get and maintain an erection. The
VCD consists of an acrylic cylinder with a pump that
may be attached directly to the end of the penis. The
cylinder and pump are used to create a vacuum to help
the penis become erect and the band or constriction
ring on the other hand is used to help maintain the
erection.
